Upcoming changes to aerodrome terminology
From 13 August 2020, all aerodromes currently listed as registered will now be published in the En Route Supplement Australia (ERSA) as certified.
Radio carriage and use is still mandatory for all certified aerodromes including those previously listed as registered.
Under the Civil Aviation Legislation Amendment (Part 139 Aerodromes—Transitional Provisions and Consequential Amendments) Regulations 2020, consequential amendments were made to the civil aviation regulations, including CAR 166, to remove references to registered aerodromes.
Aerodromes will be either 'regulated' (certified) or 'unregulated', reducing complexity.
You can find more information on the upcoming changes to aerodromes on our website and in the latest ERSA.
